What is the SWRAWP?

The SWRAWP is a technical working group with membership drawn from officers of the 18 Mineral Planning Authorities*, representatives of the Mineral Products Association, British Aggregates Association, Natural Resources Wales, Welsh Government, British Geological Survey and The Crown Estate.

The Chair of the SWRAWP is Llinos Quelch who is Head of Planning at Carmarthenshire County Council. She is assisted by the Technical Secretary Hugh Towns who is Regional Minerals & Waste Planning Manager at Carmarthenshire County Council and also working under grant funding from the Welsh Government on SWRAWP matters.

* Blaenau Gwent, Brecon Beacons National Park, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Merthyr, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Swansea, Torfaen and Vale of Glamorgan.
