What
is the SWRAWP?

The SWRAWP is a technical working group with membership drawn
from officers of the 18 Mineral Planning Authorities*, representatives
of the Mineral Products Association, British Aggregates Association,
Environment Agency Wales, Countryside Council for Wales, Welsh Government, Communities and Local Government(CLG), Cuddy
Demolition, British Geological Survey, Crown estate and RWEnpower.
The
Chairman of the SWRAWP is Martin Hooker, former Assistant Director BCBC and now private consultant. He is assisted by
the Technical Secretary Steve Bool who is Principal Planning Officer
working for Bridgend County Borough Council and also working under
contract to the Welsh Government on SWRAWP matters. Bridgend
County Borough Council has been the lead authority for South Wales
in regional mineral planning since 1996.
